"Let's just go in and take a look! If you don't like any of them we can leave." Ashley is tugging you towards the pet store. "I know you moved out to get a change of pace from your big noisy family, but the silence of an empty apartment would drive you mad in a week and I can only visit you so often. You need a companion!"

Your friend's enthusiasm is infectious, even though you have mixed feelings about the idea of adopting a human pet. Mustering up a determined look, you step through the door, which rings a bell to signal your entrance. Instantly your nerves are back, and you freeze as you take in the sight before you. The room is filled with girls wearing comfortable to revealing clothes, headbands that sport fake ears of various type, and in a few cases clipped-on tails to match. Most of them are dozing in the warm sunlight pouring in through scattered skylights, while others are batting a ball of yarn around or roughhousing with each other. Their activities die down as they turn to stare at you, alerted by the bell.

To your right is a counter staffed by an elderly woman. "Welcome to Friendly Pets Incorporated," she greets you. "Is this your first time here?"

Your mouth is too dry to respond, so Ashley chimes in. "Yup! John here just moved into his first apartment and needs someone to share it with."

"Alright. If you're looking for anything in particular let me know, otherwise feel free to wander and see if you spot a good match."
