Because Moore was an assistant prosecutor at the time of the alleged behavior. He was a public servant and a guardian of the public trust. It is discrediting to the judicial system that a man accused of being an active [person who enjoys sex with minors] would be prosecuting others accused of crimes. It will be extremely discrediting to the our federal government, the Senate, and to the citizens of Alabama if Moore is elected Senator next month.

I agree Moore was not accused of penetrative rape. I read that he invited the girl to his home. The girl had her mother's permission because Moore previously interact with them as part of a case in which they were involved. There, Moore allegedly kissed the girl on the mouth, unfastened her blouse, and fondled her breasts and genitals through her bra and panties.

 

why? why are people bringing up accusations against democrat backers from decades ago?

 

That a woman would make excuse for a pedophile. Regardless whether or not the girl feels she was raped or not, Moore was in his twenties when this event occurred, the only requirement is if there was any sexual contact at all. A 14 year old isn't able to give consent to an adult.

Moore has been a staunch opponent of LGBT rights throughout his career. Last September he was suspended from Alabama's Supreme Court for failing to comply with the Federal Supreme Court's ruling that legalized gay marriage nationwide. In 2014, Moore wrote letters to all 50 state governors calling on them to convene a constitutional convention to ban gay marriage.

CNN has also reported that Moore repeatedly appeared on a radio show hosted by a pastor who preaches the death penalty for homosexuality.

Imagine what it would be like if you were a homosexual appearing before Judge Moore for a traffic offense.

Gay rights are not my concern. Sexual offenses against females, especially if they are underage very definitely are.

I do not know if Moore is guilty or not. Women who dislike his Christian conservatism might be framing him. What this matter demonstrates is that victims of sexual offenses need to report them immediately.

I am glad that right now this hurts the Republicans, still reeling from last Tuesday's elections.

If Moore loses (not likely since everybody knows that it's all lies and bullshit) the amount of time anybody will be hearing about these allegations in the future will be 0.00000000%.

The only rape claim was from Juanita Broaddrick, who both signed a deposition and later testified under oath (after being subpoenaed) that no sexual contact occurred.

It's hard to do anything when the person who claimed it backs off once they get to court.
