I'm happy that the free/open parameters work so well for you, and when you find certain styles or parameters that don't work for you I hope no one says that that is "bollocks."
some people do their best work in tight restrictions some need more freedom. Maybe all writers aren't exactly alike eh?

I can agree with that statement.

I opted for a loose, open environment mainly because we're under a tight time frame as I didn't want to infringe upon the time for the upcoming CAW in September. With that in mind, I figured that people might either have a story already started or even one that is near finished...this would be an opportunity for them to showcase.

Still...an open environment might not be for everyone. If someone is looking for a little restriction, you could always try one of these:

1. Every paragraph in your story must start with the next letter in the alphabet beyond the previous paragraph. So, 1st paragraph starts with letter A, next paragraph must start with a word that has B as its first letter, etc. When you get to Z, go back to A and continue onward.

2. Have one of your major characters only speak in haiku.

3. Have the main story in your character suffer from dyslexia.

4. Write a story where none of the words in your story can be longer than six characters.

Or, you can simply choose the open environment. :excited:

Well I am a thousand words in!!! Moving away from my 1st person style, going for 3rd person and it seems to be coming well! Just hope the reader will be coming well too

There is one, semi serious question I would like to ask. Would one of the Mods, maybe Ejls like to offer KAW just ONE bit of assistance for this challenge. Some may disagree with this request (SHOCK AND HORROR; PEOPLE ON XNXX DISAGREEING)

When this reached the voting stage, would a Mod like to monitor that there are no sock votes cast??? Would that be unreasonable to ask??

I disagree, Ejls runs CAW, this KAW. Someone else maybe Horse or the OP; someone different should assist with the challenge.

 

I didn't ask anyone to run it!!! I merely suggested that a Mod would be able to see if anybody voted more than once from a single IP address and that would assist a fair vote. How is that asking someone to run it??

 

1. I don't run each CAW. They are run by the hosts.

2. Horse is the OP.

IMO : The first, best step would be to make the poll public - everybody knows who voted for what.

Sock votes will generally be identifiable as socks from the git-go.

 

Oops, my bad. I guess I didn't make that clear. Yes, it will be a public poll. You will know the author of the story you voted for, and everyone will see which story you voted for. Transparency. I know there is merit by hiding all that, but for this we will just keep it simple and out in the open.

How is this going to work IF the person running the KAW has you on ignore/blocked and cannot see your posts, pms, visitor messages and such?

As I was informed I am on his ignore/blocked list.

If someone could relay this to Horse please, I would be mostly greatful for your assistance.
